Code Blue Medical is an accredited course centre for the Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support Level 1 Course and is available in a wide range of locations around Australia. Courses can also be conducted for organisations at your site or at one of our many venues.
The ALS Level 1 course is designed for healthcare professionals who need skills in Advanced Life Support as part of their daily clinical duties.
Our course is designed to develop foundation skills and knowledge while providing the confidence for managing medical emergencies, utilising some of the most advanced medical simulation equipment available today.
During the course, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to:
- Recognise and manage the deteriorating patient using a structured ABCDE approach;
- Deliver standardised CPR in adults (Basic Life Support)
- Manage a cardiac arrest by working with a multidisciplinary team in an emergency situation;
- Become an effective and confident team member and leader by utilising non-technical skills.
This course is suitable for clinicians in the following areas:
- General practice
- Pre-hospital / First response
- Ward-based clinical areas
- Community health facilities
All applicants must hold a professional healthcare qualification or be in training for a professional healthcare qualification. This includes medical students and nurses. This course is also a valuable professional development opportunity for international medical graduates.
